Imation Selects Staccato Wireless USB Solution for Wireless Projection Link
Staccato Ripcord Zero Install™ solution powers true ‘plug and play’ experience for digital projectors
San Diego, CA – January 7, 2009 Staccato Communications, an Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology pioneer and leader in Wireless USB from the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), today announced that its Ripcord Zero Install™ Wireless USB solution has been selected to power Imation’s new Wireless Projection Link. The Staccato Ripcord Zero Install solution enables full end-to-end Wireless USB connectivity to existing PC and digital projection systems without the need or hassle of installing new software. Imation recently unveiled their innovative Wireless USB product at the 2009 Storage Visions Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Imation Wireless Projection Link is a digital projector solution enabling effortless meeting collaboration with reliable, wireless presentation capability. Designed with the presenter’s needs in mind, the Imation Wireless Projection Link allows multiple users to more easily share a single projector in a conference or meeting room by instantly creating a wireless connection from a PC to a digital projector, eliminating the hassle and stress of cables and meeting set-up. Offering the first two-step, “connect and project” zero-install option, the Imation Wireless Projection Link gives users the freedom to conduct meetings and presentations more efficiently without installing any software at virtually the same speed as wired options. The simple-to-use product consists of a small form factor base unit that is compatible with almost all projection systems on the market today, and also ships with a USB transmitter dongle that PC users can simply connect, instantly providing a wireless connection to a digital projector.

In addition, since the Imation Wireless Projection Link has obtained the necessary Wireless USB certifications from the USB-IF, the product can also be used in conjunction with any Wireless USB certified host solution, allowing future-proof connectivity to PCs enabled with embedded Wireless USB technology.
